Because mermaids have been a huge part of my life since I was a little girl. Growing up in a fisherman village in Honduras, listening to stories about mermaids always fascinated me. Mermaids remind me of my fun childhood. I had the privilege of having the ocean as my playground. I used to spend everyday playing on the beach, collecting seashells, chasing baby crabs, collecting cool things that would wash up on the sand, looking at ships passing by on the horizon, going to sleep on a hammock listening to the waves.
